🏸 How To Make Zombie Villager Not Despawn
I would like to keep a few hostile mobs from despawning in my 1.5.2 world. I can't figure out a way to do it, however. I'm pretty sure using the anvil/spawn egg renaming trick doesn't stop them from despawning (if it does please tell me, i have not tested this).

You might have been close enough to the village for the zombie raid to spawn and kill all the villagers, but then you walked far enough away from the village for them to despawn. This is probably the case if you were just outside the village for a while, then decided to walk away from the village. This is probably also the cause of the zombie

This mod lets you either change the "1 in 50" chance to something like a "1 in 5" or even a "1 in 1" chance, and optionally to reverse the check (so, say, only 1 in 50 villages are not zombie villages). Additionally, there is (in 1.1.0) an option to make zombie villagers not burn in daylight, as if they were a regular villager.
Even though a curing zombie villager is technically a hostile mob, the player has invested resources into turning it into a useful mob, so it shouldn't be possible for them to de-spawn. This issue can of course be prevented by the player staying within 32 blocks of the zombie until it's cured, but that could be a waste of precious time.
Press the button to spawn a villager. Save & quit, then reload, to confirm that the the villager is kept in the world save. Open the world, flip the lever, and start a stopwatch. After about 10-15 seconds, close Minecraft without exiting the world (for example, in Windows 10 press alt-F4). Reopen Minecraft and reopen the test world.

Even when I'm around it, there are still hostile mobs spawning. In the f3-screen you can see the amount of mobs in the mob cap and when I disable mob spawning it says 6-8 (so the zombie villagers don't count). When I look online, everyone says that zombie villagers do count, so I really don't know what the problem is. Anyone who knows more? 4. 4.
